Remember when falling sand on your screen was all the rage? The Powder Toy is a classic physics sandbox game, which simulates air pressure and velocity, heat, gravity and a countless number of interactions.

It's free and open source, with a pretty active community around it and a lot of fans and now it's been released on Steam too. Making it easier than ever to mess with physics and just — see what happens. It has Native Linux support and my test of the Steam release showed it working fine on Kubuntu 24.04.

The first scene in the trailer looks like a "Scientist Edition" of the nuke button in Lemmings.
Will def check it out.

I spent quite a bit of time in the computer lab playing this game during the allotted free time... and a little bit outside the free time, too. What's the teacher going to do, remotely look at what I'm doing and blank out my screen through their computer? Oh, that's exactly what happened. Well, I'll be.
