For fans of racing games, you may want to act quickly and pick up Forza Horizon 4 before it gets delisted in December.
On December 15th, Microsoft / Xbox Game Studios will remove it from all digital stores. They said this is being done due to "licensing and agreements with our partners". A common occurrence for racing games, often due to music and car licenses. It will still be fully playable though as they said "Players who already own the game and its content will be able to download and play it as normal, including its offline, online, and multiplayer features; physical copies of the game purchased after this date will also work and will be able to use online features".
The game currently has a 
Steam Deck Playable rating, and works on desktop Linux too with Proton.
Such a shame, all these licensing deals wreak havoc on game preservation. That's only 6 years after release, which is really not a long time. Sure, there's games following it, but still complete rubbish to have games just vanish from stores like this. At least in this case Playground Games are keeping the servers online, but for how long exactly when they won't be making any money from it?
It's 80% off on Steam for the next 5 hours, ending at 5PM UTC. There's a chance it may have other discounts later before finally being removed but it also may not.

Indeed, that suggests that if one resists to the hype of the moment, it would enjoy games at very low prices, hardware at very low prices, games fixed from release bugs, and the more you wait, the less the probability the game will be removed.
This is what I do lately, and it feels good and right.
Yeah, it means less 'online' gaming, but who cares.

Indeed..... I am in the same boat as you....... If you have ever seen the Weekend Players Club threads on the forum here...... You would see that I mostly play emulated games on my 8 year old PC.......to the next shiny new game

I have very..... VERY little interest in modern gaming..... So missing out on shiny new games really doesnt worry me....... The big worry though for me is that IF I get interested in playing current day games in 10....... 15+ years time....... Will they still be on sale???....... Or would the window have been closed forever???.....
Digital stores were meant to make the buying window longer (Ideally until the game no longer worked on new operating systems/hardware)....... But we are seeing more and more and more games getting removed from digital stores far earlier than they really should........
And hell even if I did buy the games when they were available...... Will they take have taken them off me by then...... Could this be the new FOMO???....... Play now or miss out..... FOREVER.......

But this is exactly the problem solved by waiting enough to get the games that will survive the gaming industry.
I'd prefer to miss a removed game than seeing my beloved game removed from my library.
...lately I'm having great fun writing crt shaders for retroarch and hell, I discovered there are so much gems I still have to play, that I prefer to watch the latest raytraced games on youtube for 5 minutes just to say "wow', but that's it.

Probably the closest thing to Forza Horizon I will ever get to play...... And it still holds up really well today.......
Driving along the Hawaiian cost line in a Jaguar XJ220 is still so, so good.....
I prefer to watch the latest raytraced games on youtube for 5 minutes just to say "wow', but that's it.I do the same thing....... They are trying to make AAA gaming such a cinematic interactive movie experience that honestly you might as well just watch them on YT a lot of the time and you really wont be missing all that much........ And your wallet will be much much happier.......
