Pinballvania? That's actually a new one to me, although Pinball Spire is not the first, it sure does look good.

There's quite a lot of great looking Pinball games out there, plenty that stick quite closely to being just a jazzed-up version of the game, but not too many actually expand on the basic idea and throw in other genres into the mix like Pinball Spire does.

"Conquer the titular spire as a brave, plucky little pinball called Pip, destined to step into the plunger and explore the inner chambers of a mysterious spire that appeared in their world overnight."

Inside the Spire there's a big maze of Pinball games, full of various secrets to unlock and enemies to bump into along with various types of contraptions to interact with. You also have some special abilities, that play a role in getting you through this strange building.

Features:

  • Pinballvania, a unique blend of genres, mixing classic video game platforming with arcade pinball games.
  • Elaborate pinball levels to explore, combining traditional pinball tables with atmospheric dungeons and passageways to explore.
  • Mana-powered pinball abilities enable unorthodox ways to interact with the environment.
  • Mystery that actually gets resolved conclusively instead of ending up on a cliffhanger!

Check out the demo on Steam which worked great with Proton 9.

I loved classic pinballs (from Digital Illussions) and I very much enjoyed Yoku's Delivery Express, so this one goes straight to my wishlist. :-)

The singular complaint I have for this game is the demo is too short! Instant wishlist indeed.

I do enjoy a spot of pinball and this looks very interesting!
This description reminds me of Kirby Tilt and Tumble or Mario Pinball Land. I like it!

What are the others? I must check them out!

Developers seem to have a thing for balls these days : a few days ago, it was Rack and Slay, a roguelike dungeon crawler billiard. Now we have a pinballvania.

I'm waiting for the mashup : Slay the Pinball Spire
