Easily one of the weirdest and best roguelikes ever, Caves of Qud has a new update live with Spring Molting bringing the brand new shiny UI for everyone. This is the final major update before the 1.0 release that's due later this year.
Here you can build any kind of character you like from more than 70 mutations and dozens of cybernetic implants. Fly, teleport, hypnotize a goat, swap bodies with a robot: use a million tools at your disposal to explore a world of strange richness, where everything thinks and everything feels. Try Classic (Roguelike) mode with permadeath, or play the game as an RPG with friendlier Roleplay or Wander modes.
Highlights of the update include:
- All new interface - Our transformational UI redesign is complete! Fully mouseable, fully gamepaddable, and much prettier, but all carefully designed to maintain the essence of what makes Qud Qud. More polish is coming, but everything functional is in.
- Support for Steam Cloud saves. Play between PCs or between Steam Deck and PC, at your leisure.
- a refresh of the starting town of Joppa, with the same lived-in texture as the rest of the world.
- hundreds of new sound and visual effects.
- 40 new achievements.
- several new narrative touches, big bug fixes, & performance improvements.
