Airships: Lost Flotilla is steadily building up to be one of my favourites in the auto-shooter bullet-heaven survivor genre. Now there's an expanded demo and I've got a special code for you.

To rewind a moment, what is it? Airships: Lost Flotilla is a steampunk autoshooter where you fight your way through waves of enemies on your way to a safe harbour. Destroy your foes, harvest wreckage and upgrade your ship. There's a crazy variety to the enemies, and some huge boss battles too.

So it's basically Vampire Survivors / Brotato with Airships from developer David Stark who also that the rather excellent Airships: Conquer the Skies.

You start off with a basic ship layout, and as you take down enemies and collect the little gems they drop you'll get money to upgrade. This can be adding weapons, general buffs, getting companion ships to help out and loads more. You can load up some pretty amusing combinations and it can get quite challenging.

A brand new expanded demo has arrived bringing with it a brand new map feature with branching paths, making it a whole lot more interesting to play through. This overworld map allows you to pick where you go next with each location having different enemies, different rewards and upgrades and so on.

Even better, there's a secret ship you can unlock and I've got the code for you. In the top right of the menu, you'll find a Magic Symbols button. Enter this into it to unlock the Corvette:

The Corvette is hilariously fast and challenging to control and play with. Good fun.

Check out the new demo on Steam. It has Native Linux support.
