Square Enix have now released the KINGDOM HEARTS series on Steam, enabling many more people to experience the grand adventure on Steam Deck and desktop Linux easily with Proton.
The beloved KINGDOM HEARTS franchise was first released in 2002 by Square Enix, and led by legendary game director Tetsuya Nomura, thus launching the longstanding collaboration between Square Enix and Disney. Since then, over 36 million copies have shipped worldwide.
Finally, after being Epic Exclusive for so long! Hopefully we won't see such long exclusive deals in future, as part of Square Enix's change in strategy they announced recently.
The Steam release includes all these across different packages:
- KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX.
- KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue.
- KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind DLC.
- KINGDOM HEARTS INTEGRUM MASTERPIECE (bundle that includes all the above compilations).

Currently at time of writing there's no Steam Deck rating from Valve on any of them, but I would expect Valve to put them through review soon.

This is typical Gleam stuff whenever a contest is created and you have to jump a bunch of hoops in hopes to get enough entries to win the prize. It's not worth the hassle to do it unless you're feeling lucky today.

What's really cool about the giveaway is really just what it says about Linux support. KH doesn't have a native Linux version, but we've gone through this slow creep of like, not antagonizing Linux users, occasionally having patch notes that mention making something work in Proton, to things like Neil Druckman acknowledging that yes they care about Steam Deck, to it being a key piece of marketing on launch day.

Price is a bit high for my taste with 69€ for the whole set. Yes, its a lot of content, but concidering its age I was hoping for something 40-ish. But I´m also a "vote with my wallet"-kind of guy and right now my wallet wants to scream "YES! FINALLY! DAMMIT! TAKE WHATEVER YOU WANT!!"

There’s a lot of import uncertainty with the new French language bill having been/being passed that has a lot of companies and the US hesitant to test those waters.
That’s my current understanding of it anyway, I live next door in Ontario.

As someone who has never played one of these games before, I can't say that trailer did a good of convincing me to pick it up; it did leave me confused though, so that's something!

I've played every single Kingdom Hearts game, and I'll say this, Disney x Final Fantasy is easily the best crossover ever made in a video game.
Fair warning, despite the premise being silly, the lore is extremely deep. You literally have to play most of the side games to understand the story of II and III. Fortunately, a few of the more obtuse handheld ones got re-released with the compilations as fully voiced ~2hr movies, so new players wouldn't have to suffer through playing them.
Tv Tropes has extensive articles on all the games, and each game has a separate headscratcher page.
An understanding of certain philosophies that regard the body, mind, and soul as entirely separate also helps. The tv tropes page has the following quote:

This means that as Sora forgets people as he proceeds through Castle Oblivion, the people he forgets about forget him, too.

Stricter laws surrounding gambling and lotteries. The gist of it is that giveaways past a certain value need to be registered and approved, and many companies prefer not to bother and just exclude Quebec. It’s similar to how you sometimes see exclusions for both Quebec and California in some terms of use, because their laws don’t allow some of the typical bullshit clauses companies like to use (and are allowed to in the rest of the respective countries).What makes Quebec special?
