Being a Vampire Therapist is not something that's high up on my wishlist of jobs, but it certainly sounds interesting and you can try out the fresh demo now. Created in conjunction with licensed therapists, you'll take on the role of Sam in this intriguing therapy 'em up.

"Vampire Therapist is a narrative adventure in the vein (get it) of What We Do in the Shadows, the horror works of Mel Brooks, Monty Python, and Horrible Histories where you play as a reformed bloodsucker helping other vampires find inner peace.

Take on the role of Sam, a former rootin’, tootin’ Wild West gunslinger who escaped his day-to-day of murder and mayhem and realized, after a hundred years or so, that there’s a whole lot more to unlife than blood, lace, and leather. Dragging himself from the quagmire of the Old West, Sam teams up with a 3000-year-old vampire living in Europe that’s willing to show him the therapy ropes."

Today they just announced an impressive voice cast featuring Hades 2 star Sarah Grayson, Francesca Meaux of Hades fame, newcomer Kylie Clark, and star of Critical Role and Baldur’s Gate 3’s Matthew Mercer will be joining Cyrus Nemati (Hades and Pyre).

Some potential. The thing about comedy, though, is that it's hard. You can't just do a genre and say you're being funny with it, you have to actually be funny. What We Do in the Shadows wasn't funny because it was vampire humour. It was funny because it was really, really funny. So is this funny? I'm not really sure from the trailer.

Oh, that looks promising. I'll buy it on GOG once it comes out!
On a side note: what's with this system requirements? 8 GB RAM and 16 GB of disc space for a game that is basically a text adventure with some animations? I mean, from the looks of it it is not much more than the original Monkey Island.

Maybe the voice lines are stored as 24-bit, 192kHz, 7.1 channel uncompressed audio, and the static backgrounds are actually high resolution video loops.

If so, in an ideal world this game could have an HD extras pack.

Obviously I'm joking. Surely no developer would do something as pointless as that.

I can definitely imagine someone using the defaults of their toolset without researching what the reasonable values would be. Every time I convert or export audio files I pick the default or one higher 😅. If I were to make a game and never specifically look at file sizes, this could actually happen. But the same issue happening in multiple fields (audio, graphics) accidentally is considerably less likely.
