Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is real from CAPCOM and not only is it coming to Steam, it's releasing somewhat soon on September 19th. You should be able to play it on desktop Linux with Proton, and perhaps Steam Deck if it's optimized enough.
Built on top of Capcom's RE ENGINE, they say it will be the definitive remaster of the classic Dead Rising game.

Yeah, I am quite disappointed in that, too. That game is on my list of things that would like to give a try.
Does anyone know if it's possible to gift it from another account? If so I might be tempted to spend some money on a VPN to try and get it...

If there's going to be a retail version, you usually can order it from Austria. So far I never had problems activating keys for games that are blocked. Works with digital keys too.

Fond memories of playing the first one on xbox 360 all those years ago
Shame this new ones using denuvo, hopefully they'll be no other nasty surprises like microtransactions or something
