Do the names Ken and Roberta Williams ring any bells for you? If so, you might want to keep an eye on Legends of Adventure: The Story of Sierra On-Line.

This is an upcoming documentary detailing the workings of Sierra On-Line as told by the people who created iconic adventure games like King’s Quest, Space Quest, Quest for Glory, Leisure Suit Larry, Gabriel Knight, Police Quest, Phantasmagoria, and more

It's being made by Prime Video docuseries Gamebreakers and award-winning game studio MidBoss. Featuring all-new insights and never-before-heard stories from the creators of these classic titles. So we can expect to hear from legendary designers including Roberta Williams, Ken Williams, Mark Crowe, Al Lowe, Lori Ann Cole, Corey Cole, Christy Marx, Jim Walls, and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak with even more names yet to be announced.

Nope. Developed by the legendary Westwood Studios and published by Virgin Games.

Leisure Suit Larry was the first of their games I ever bought. (waaaaayy back)

Hilarious.

btw, updated version is on steam. New graphics, gameplay is the same, including same silly bugs, hacks etc.

(eg: gambling: save, bet all, if win, save, repeat. if lose, load save, try again.) heh.

spent many hours doing that one.

Kings Quest, did them, Space Quest, loved that one.

Quoting: ArehandoroWould love to see Gabriel Knight 4, or even series based on it. This documentary will suffice for now 😅
Apparently, there is willingness. Just a matter of, y'know, getting the license (and not having it yoinked from them mid-development as was the case with their Activision deal), the funding, and the team to make it.

And then there's the fact that Jane has been writing garbage in industrial quantities for over a decade.

And then I look back at Moebius, which is horribly written and, somehow, designed even worse than that, and I'm not sure a GK4 is safe with Jane Jensen anymore. I'm hoping that new GK story will be sensational... but it probably won't be.

All this said, I'm excusing the terrible art direction in the GK1 remake. They had a tiny budget and Activision screwing with their deal, so I'll let issues like a comic book page with three different and clashing art styles pass. Although... that is also concerning, seeing as a potential GK4 would also be very much indie.

Yeah, you're right, most likely won't be any good and maybe leave it as it is for now.

I'll still be reading that story, because I really would like more GK...
