ProtonUp-Qt is such a useful tool for Linux desktop and Steam Deck gaming, giving you an easy all-in-one way to add different versions of GE-Proton and other tools to different launchers and a new version is out now with v2.10.2.

You can use this to install GE-Proton for Steam, Heroic, Lutris and others and it supports other compatibility tools too like Luxtorpeda for running Native Linux game engines for games on Steam too.

From the changelog:

Features

  • Install Proton-GE, Wine-GE, ...-Tkg, Luxtorpeda, Boxtron and SteamTinkerLaunch etc. for Steam, Lutris, Heroic Games Launcher and Boxtron
  • Optimized for game consoles/handhelds (Gamepad support)
  • Tested on Ubuntu 18.04 or newer, Fedora 34 and Manjaro 20.2

Changelog

  • Added support for the WineZGUI launcher
  • Allow installing older compatibility tools (added a "load more" button)
  • Removed D8VK in favor of DXVK: Woohoo, D8VK was merged into DXVK 🎉!

Two things not mentioned in the changelog but which I have found useful in this release:
- Dialogs no longer have a fixed size and can now be resized, so if you have a larger font size or custom Qt theme, elements will no longer be cut off.
- Download count and download progress are now sent to the taskbar / panel. This lets me see download progress at a glance without ProtonUp-Qt being in focus (useful for larger compatibility tools like Proton-tkg).

This release also fixes a few issues introduced as a result of the latest Steam Client Beta's new `appinfo.vdf` format.
