Stardew Valley is getting a Baldur's Gate 3 cross-over mod with Baldur's Village

It was only a matter of time wasn't it? 3 fans of both games decided to take matters into their own hands to combine Stardew Valley and Baldur's Gate 3.

There's no clear timeline on a release just yet, but the latest update from one of the people working on it mentioned the first part may appear "this fall or winter".

The original announcement mentioned plans for including "a new map and residents from Baldur's Gate 3" which includes the likes of Astarion, Shadowheart, Gale and Halsin. Originally, Astarion was the single character you could date and they said he will have a "unique romance plot" but they've now added Halsin into that too with more romance options based on voting from their Patreon. The map size has also doubled since their original plan.

In the latest update they also mentioned Roland being added as a new character, they're working on the daily schedule of each NPC to "make their relationship more real" and for "some old friends to have activities together", along with ongoing work on "spouse rooms, patios, and special furniture related to the character's experience". We're even going to get some seasonal outfits.

This would be a good time to remind you of the new cross-platform Nexus modding app, which recently had a first Alpha release and Stardew Valley is the initial supported game. So hopefully by the time Baldur's Village releases it will be super-simple to get it working on Linux / Steam Deck.
