Another great milestone for the popular Steam Deck from Valve, which in the last day or so managed to hit over 16,000 games that have been rated as Playable and Verified.
This is using Valve's official rating system, so it only covers those games that have actually been tested. So keep in mind there's thousands more that do run. Not a perfect measure, with it at times having the wrong rating, but overall it's working well. Here's the current numbers at time of writing:
- Steam Deck Playable - 10,701
- Steam Deck Verified - 5,318
- Steam Deck Unsupported - 4,408
Taken from SteamDB that shows unlisted games as well, since owners can continue to download and play them and Valve do rate them.
Some interesting fully Steam Deck Verified games rated over last month or so include:
Dragon Age: The Veilguard (releases October 31st)
MARVEL vs. CAPCOM Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics (releases September 12th)
Neva (releases October 15)
Pinball Spire (releases Q4 2024)
There's still some major annoyances, namely EA with their newer EA anticheat which has repeatedly caused games to be entirely broken with the latest being Battlefield 1. And the number of developers with multiplayer games that just refuse to enable their anti-cheat. I really hope over the next year as the Steam Deck continues to sell really well that developers will reconsider that.

I've been streaming Death Stranding off and on from my desktop even though I've completed the game, played quite a bit of Sail Forth, completed Contrast, and just started Dex. I've also done a few runs through of Metal Gear Solid with RetroDeck.
QuoteWhat have you been enjoying the most on Steam Deck recently?I've been chipping away at PathBlasters (Native Linux), but since there's nothing else out there for me at the moment (PathBlasters is the only 2024 release I've bought) it's mostly been emulated goodness via RetroDECK, with Saturn Bomberman (Saturn, duh ) being a recurring favourite.

I checked areweanticheatyet.com at the beginning of the year and it was at around 60% supported/playable, and now it's at 54% supported/playable. Kind of sad, really.
I'd love to see a report from a developer who had it enabled and then disabled it, saying, "yes, Linux really did cause all these problems we were afraid of, and we're glad to get rid of Linux support!" I'm only seeing companies not wanting to take the risk.
Quoting: pleasereadthemanualI wouldn't be surprised if some of the changes had to do with the EA or Riot Anticheat being added recently or games that used to work but broke.QuoteAnd the number of developers with multiplayer games that just refuse to enable their anti-cheat. Been enjoying Chrono Trigger (SNES), not an RPG guy at all but I really like this game so far.
Also playing ZZZ over on the desktop side these days, I just got an invite for Deadlock so I might try it though I don't really care for multiplayer games at the moment.
It unfortunately does not run at all on my desktop, however, which is where I wanted to play it. It did remind me that it's actually been years since I last bought a Windows-only game that didn't "just work" with Proton, so overall things are pretty good.
I also picked up Tactical Breach Wizards which I really enjoyed the demo of and looks to be a great Deck game, just haven't started it yet.
QuoteWhat have you been enjoying the most on Steam Deck recently?I didn't have much time to use it lately, but honestly I still very much just like tinkering with it. Getting games to work is great fun for me, playing them afterwards is a plus.
