Update - 22/08/24 17:40 UTC: Valve has now actually announced this change.
While I can't find anywhere that Valve actually announced this, they've done another tweak to the user review system on Steam to show who primarily played on Steam Deck. This follows on from the recent user review update that attempted to deal with jokes, memes and ASCII art.
Just another way for Valve to advertise their Steam Deck in a neat way, and importantly for potential buyers to see who is really playing on Steam Deck. It's a good way to gauge if a game is truly worth a purchase for you, if you're also primarily a Steam Decker.
When you look over various user reviews on Steam, you might now spot a Steam Deck icon, the same one that was added to the friends list recently to show who is currently online on Steam Deck.
As some examples here's one from the excellent Selaco:
And another from DAVE THE DIVER:
This might even push more Steam Deck players to make a review, just to show off how many hours they've put into a game. Which can then help push even more game sales, and perhaps more Steam Deck sales too.
Now Valve just need to add a filter to show only Steam Deck reviews, and it should work quite nicely.
If they let me filter for reviews by Steam Deck players, this will be really helpful.
That would be HIGHLY appreciated! Most of the times, usually already have a good understanding of what a game is about and if I´d like it, so I usually only look through the reviews to find out how well it runs on the Deck.
Maybe they will also add Win/Mac/Linux/Proton markers?
