Harebrained are back! After splitting off from Paradox, they've returned with a new game, and one Shadowrun fans might like to take a look at with GRAFT.

In GRAFT, you will navigate a crumbling, continent-sized space station known as the Arc, where the remains of a once-advanced civilization now lie in darkness and decay. As a survivor in this dying world, you must scavenge and graft parts from enemies to transform and enhance abilities, all while grappling with the philosophical implications of identity and memory.

No word on platforms yet other than Windows, but unless they do something truly odd it should run in Proton.

I did really enjoy the Shadowrun games even though I don't generally get on with RPGs. I hope Harebrained keep the Deck in mind as they're developing this game, since that's where I enjoyed their previous ones.

So did I. But this doesn't look turn-based. Cool and atmospheric and all, but I'm kind of crap at combat games so this is probably not for me.

Yeah I went through a small roller-coaster of expectations. "Oh no they are making an RPG this time, but wait their Shadowrun RPGs were these great tactical games, oh no the end of the trailer suggests it is not even turn-based".
Looks interesting, but I could really do with a BattleTech-2 using a decent engine. (original used unity3d)
The setting smells like Eclipse Phase, and I'm a sucker for that TTRPG.

I'd take a Battletech 2 from Harebrained even if they made it using the old Infinity Engine.

Sadly Paradox kept the Battletech license (and all rights to the game), but if they just made a big tactical game of the same style it would be great in whatever setting.

ha! Same exact here. Maybe just maybe it could be real-time-with-pause and also have a turn based mode similar to PoE2? Because like you all, I SUCK so hard at real time twitch action combat games. I will probably get it no matter what just to support this wonderful dev, but I do REALLY hope real time action isn't the only mode of combat.

It reminds me of The Ascent, which I ended up refunding even though I liked the atmosphere and story. The combat killed it for me.

Really the visual style of the small bit of gameplay in the trailer reminds me of Dead Nation on the PS3, which is... very not turn-based. I did really enjoy it though. That style could just be the trappings of zombie games more than anything.

The thing that would turn me off about it (since they've shown they can make games with RPG stuff that I find tolerable) is leaning too heavily into the survival part of survival horror. I'm probably not up for that. I would want to feel awesome with my zombie attachments, not spend my time scrabbling around for the two bullets on the level.

Yes you're right, it really does. Especially those red lasers and isometric combat style. I too bought and refunded The Ascent, for me the combat was pretty bad, but the mapping system totally killed it for me. I could never figure out where to go, and often the directions would point me to areas WAY above my level where I'd get instakilled.

There are already a fair few shooter games like that, like this.

Jupiter Hell is one, but yeah its a saturated market so this would need to do something unique other then get gun and shoot stuff forever.
