Tower of Babel: Survivors Of Chaos is coming to Steam and at least based on the very short teaser trailer, it looks like it could be one I'll sink a lot of hours into.

Blending together elements of the survivor-like bullet heaven / hell stuff popularised by Vampire Survivors, with a bit more of a hack and slash RPG feel to it.

More about it: "Battle relentless waves of enemies, acquire new skills, and upgrade your abilities. Become stronger with new gear and weapons. With a unique character build and numerous item combinations, your goal is to ascend to the top level. Join forces with heroes who have gathered for their own missions, defeat the swarming monsters, and reach the top of the Tower of Babel. Though its origins are shrouded in mystery, legend says that those who reach the top can obtain everything they desire."

Writing on Steam the developer posted an announcement on August 30th to note that it has been "fully optimized for the Steam Deck experience". Nice to see more developers testing early and announcing it. They definitely have my attention on this one.

Features:

  • Gorgeous Hand-Drawn 2D Dark Fantasy Graphics.
  • Intense Survival Combat Action.
  • Build your own style with various skills and abilities.
  • Loot Hundreds of Items.
  • Rare unique items with random options.
  • Gather resources and upgrade.

You can follow it on Steam if it sounds like your kind of thing.

I had some difficulty picking out the main character from the clutter of enemies, what with everyone and everything being so brown.
