Things are not going exactly well for Ubisoft right now, and so they continue returning to Steam with Assassin's Creed Mirage released today. This follows on from its release a year ago where it was only available via the Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Connect.

If you missed the news recently Ubisoft are moving back to same-day releases on Steam! We have Star Wars Outlaws to come in November, and Assassin's Creed Shadows later since it was delayed.

As usual though it does use Denuvo with a machine activation limit, so if you're playing on Linux Desktop / Steam Deck, you'll want to be careful on switching around Proton versions for it otherwise you'll get locked out for 24 hours. On top of that it also uses the Ubisoft Connect Launcher, which at times had some issues in Proton but it should work mostly fine.

As for Steam Deck compatibility? No official Valve rating yet but Ubisoft stated in a news post it will get a "Playable" rating soon with an update planned:

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is playable on Steam Deck. While it is currently displayed in the “Unknown category”, the “Playable” Steam Deck label will be coming in the next few weeks through a new update.
This next update will allow to launch the game on Steam Deck with low settings by default to best optimize the experience.
Note that applying higher settings may impact the experience and lead to instability when playing on Steam Deck.

It's 50% off on Steam until October 24th.

Quoting: dpanterThey still aren't getting my money, ever. Feckless rancid scumbag company.
It would've been easy, if it weren't for Anno. Overpriced cosmetic dlc aside, Ubisoft seems to be leaving that team to their own devices. Hopefully it'll stay that way.
