Blending the mining and side-scrolling from Terraria, with the building and automation from Factorio — AutoForge looks interesting. Maybe this will scratch an itch you didn't know you had.

More about it: "A 2D automation sandbox adventure. Build an automated factory with Mana-powered machines, progress through an expansive tech tree, explore a vast and wonderful world, upgrade yourself with ancient technologies, and defend it all from invasions."

Currently in Early Access since March, the developer released a new trailer and roadmap of what's to come next. For players who like to kick-back and relax there's good news as right up next on their list is Steam Deck support, controller support and UI improvements. After that they're planning a whole lot more extra content and eventually mod support too.

Currently it has a Steam Deck Playable rating, so hopefully it can get bumped up to Verified. It has a Silver rating on ProtonDB but a lot of the reports are old.
