Well this is excellent news. I'm a big fan of Control and the world of Remedy Entertainment games and their new multiplayer spin-off FBC: Firebreak should get Steam Deck support.

So what is it? "FBC: Firebreak is a cooperative first-person shooter set within a mysterious federal agency under assault by otherworldly forces. As a years-long siege on the agency’s headquarters reaches its boiling point, only Firebreak— the Bureau’s most versatile unit—has the gear and the guts to plunge into the building’s strangest crises, restore order, and blast their way back from the brink."

It will be released on Steam in 2025 and in their official FAQ post they noted:

If you know Remedy’s games, they tend to look amazing but have high PC requirements. With this game, while the graphics will be great, we want to ensure that more people can play, so we are going to aim for a wider range of PC hardware, including Steam Deck.

Emphasis ours.

Anti-cheat is still a constant source of problems for Linux / Steam Deck gaming, so hopefully being a co-op shooter they might not even need any. Although some other co-op games do have it, it all depends what their plans are, but at least the Steam Deck is already firmly in their minds to support.

Nice to see that Steam won't be seeing a delayed release here either, no Epic exclusive deals like with Alan Wake 2, which Epic Games were the actual publisher of.

You can follow it on Steam.

Nice! Control is a great game with a very unique setting and gameplay, I like it. Although I found Control's difficulty pretty brutal, especially the boss fights. However, this seems like it could be easier with friends to help you

Eh, boss fights are only brutal if you don't upgrade your skill tree 😛
