After you've spent hours and weeks building up to go blast a rocket off into space, Factorio: Space Age will have you continue across multiple new worlds in this DLC for the massively popular building and automation sim.

There's frankly too much new to cover in a single article but for the DLC you'll get access to space platforms for building and flying through space, multiple new very unique planets with their own resources and creatures, elevated rails, item qualities, new defences to build, new music and much more.

For the 2.0 update that's free for all players there's also lots of big gameplay changes like new rails, smarter worker robots, train control improvements, UI upgrades with a new player screen, a new fluid system, remote opening of every entity allowing you to configure things from afar and so on.

YES. The true meaning of what DLC used to be. An Expansion Pack.

Will be getting this soon.

I just don't get the appeal in these games. I tried one and it was just way too stressful, ended up refunding it.

I'm still completely obsessed with satisfactory, and then this comes out. Looks like the rest of my life is going to be spent playing factory games.

Get some quality modules, then you're life might be legendary.

One of the many cool things about Factorio is that it supports a native Wayland environment without the use of xwayland. GamingOnLinux posted about it a while back. Simply enter the following in your Steam launch options:

SDL_VIDEODRIVER=wayland %command%

Can't wait to dive in once again!

I've been replaying in preparation for this DLC. After getting the "Lazy bastard" (craft <111 items manually) achievement in my last run through, I've been going for the "Steam all the way" (no solar panels) achievement this time, and incurring the wrath of the biters because of it (just started switching out the dirty boilers in favour of nuclear, so hopefully my smog cloud will start thinning out).

Really looking forward to getting into space now.

That's unnecessary now, there is an option in the graphics settings to select X11 or Wayland.

Wow, DLC costs just as much as the base game. Looks like it has tons of content, though.

Yup, that was announced from the get-go. The idea is the expantion has at least as much content as the base game, which it *easily* does.

Man, I'm still laying through the Rimworld DLC.... I guess this is next on my list!!
