Hello Games have updated No Man's Sky again, bringing with it a reality-bending new Expedition with The Cursed.

Unlike some previous updates, this doesn't include some major new features elsewhere, as it seems firmly focused on this new Expedition that runs for the next two weeks. There are of course plenty of bug fixes across the whole game though.

So what's The Cursed all about then? Taking place in a "sort of twilight realm, straddling the boundary between one reality and the next", here the very boundaries of reality are crumbling and things will start getting pretty weird. During it you can get a few new items like an exclusive jetpack customization and the Boundary Herald Starship which looks very much like a classic UFO blended with a Millennium Falcon,

The game that keeps on giving...
I just finished the previous expedition, and now another one. Impressive.
The expeditions bring me back to No Man's Sky again and again, and it still works so good on Steam Deck.

After spending short time with the expedition, it does feel refreshingly different. There's one new layer of game mechanics at least. There's even one more thing that I haven't touched yet that might change the game mechanics somewhat too.

Maybe Factorio Space Age DLC has to wait in the shop still for a moment.

Ah, No Mans Sky. I really like what the devs did here, the game looks absolutely awesome, and there is tons of content. But no matter how often i retry it, after a few hours i feel the grind, and my motivation is lacking somehow.
Elite, its biggest competition (in my opinion), is way less dense in content and grindy as hell, but for me, it feels a bit more rewarding and... real. I wonder what Hello Games had to do in order to get me hooked for longer.

I mainly these days just play the expeditions. Though I don't have that much meaningful grinding left. Freighter upgrades would have still something to do, but I have some much resources that I mostly have lost interest. I could grind better relations to the two hidden factions, but don't feel like that I need to hurry with that either.

Should maybe some day try out Elite. I have vague memory that I have a key somewhere.
