If you're after a new shooter that will have Linux support, Mini Royale looks like it could end up being a good choice.

More about it: "Step into the world of Mini Royale, where the battlefield is a kid’s bedroom and the warriors are green army toy soldiers! This action-packed battle royale pits you against other players in epic combat as you fight to be the last soldier—or team—standing in a chaotic, larger-than-life environment."

Ahead of Steam Next Fest today, the developer has upgraded the demo to bring on a new game mode that sounds like a lot of fun. The mode is called "Color Conquest" where 4 teams of different colours battle to eliminate each other. The fun part: if you die, you join the killer's team. So at some point, someone will make their last stand against everyone else, and potentially do well enough to repopulate their own team.

On top of that, there's also a more standard battle royale mode for solos, duos and trios, plus support for custom games. Although of course the demo is limited on what you can do.

Some nice game mechanics in it with various different types of weapons you can customize with attachments, there's weapon levels (a bit like Fortnite) you can upgrade, interesting movement systems with a grapple gun and parachutes to zip across the map and more.

Visually it looks great, and the map design is a lot of fun too. So far in the demo I've managed a few games, and it does seem to perform really well with their Native Linux version.

Check it out on Steam with the demo that will hopefully get populated during Steam Next Fest to try properly. I'm looking forward to properly diving in this evening.

Quotea chaotic, larger-than-life environment
Isn't it rather a a chaotic, smaller-than-life environment?

This looks a lot like Mean Greens, which is another toy soldier themed game.

Could someone test the demo on an OLED Steam Deck?

There's a report it wouldn't work, but it does work on my SD 1.0, and I can hardly believe OLED SD is that different.
