Finally huh? They sure kept us waiting. Red Dead Redemption from Rockstar Games is now set for a PC launch on October 29.

Working together with Double Eleven the PC release will come enhanced with native 4K resolution at up to 144hz on compatible hardware, monitor support for both Ultrawide (21:9) and Super Ultrawide (32:9), HDR10 support, and full keyboard and mouse functionality. It will also feature NVIDIA DLSS 3.7 and AMD FSR 3.0, NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation, adjustable draw distances, shadow quality settings and more.

It will also include Undead Nightmare plus bonus content from the Game of the Year Edition.

One still annoying thing about this release is that according to the Steam page it "Requires 3rd-Party Account: Rockstar Games". For a single-player game that's always a nuisance since there's no multiplayer content in this release.

It will be available from Steam.

Will you be buying it? Hopefully it will run well with Valve's Proton.

Will probably be $50 like it currently is on the recent console release which seems to be the same package.

This!

I would have bought this game instantly on release because I still consider it one of the best games -- if not the best game -- I've played. But given that all Rockstar games now require another user account, I'll pass as well.
Maybe... One day... If I can muster enough willpower to finish RDR2... I must have installed this game 4 or 5 times, played a couple of hours then deleted it.

Even if I acknowledge the quality of this game, I always end up with a feeling of doing chores, when I try it. Too much management. Over complicated menus and inventory. For me, this is when realism breaks the fun.

"But it's not the game, it's me".

RDR most days is my favorite game of all time so I am so excited to finally play this on PC. I'm betting my backlog will chill all of fall winter because I'll be replaying this and RDR2 right after.

I need to finish RDR2 first before I start playing this one considering it's meant to be the prequel 68.5 hours in and still somehow haven't advanced beyond the beginning of act 3. This game is absolutely massive and there's so much to do
I'll wait until it's on sale at some point to pick it up.
Really wish companies would stop with their additional launchers but it's the only way to play these game legitimately.

GOG release hopefully too.
