Rockstar Games released an update to the Rockstar Games Launcher which actually includes an improvement for Steam Deck players.

Even though they're still blocking GTA Online in GTA V for Linux platforms like Steam Deck (single-player works) and claiming they never supported it anyway, they're still improving things for Steam Deck players elsewhere.

The update for the Rockstar Games Launcher for October 24th noted:

[October 24, 2024] - Miscellaneous

  • Fixed an issue that resulted in the Rockstar Games Launcher not resizing when maximized.
  • Fixed an issue that resulted in titles not uninstalling correctly.
  • Improvements have been made to how titles are launched on Steam Deck.
  • Improvements have been made to the stability of the Rockstar Games Launcher.

Useful for anyone playing Grand Theft Auto V single-player, Red Dead Redemption 2 and the upcoming PC release of Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare that arrive on October 29th. At least for the titles that do currently work with Proton, it should perhaps be a bit smoother now.

ICYMI: I wrote about how the GTA Online situation causes issues for Valve's Steam Deck Verified system. Valve never did reply to talk about it.
