The early SEGA fan inside me is screaming a little right now. I have some seriously fond memories of playing the original Sonic on the Mega Drive.

On Steam:

Incorporates 3rd-party DRM: Denuvo Anti-tamper

That is easy a "I'll pass" for me...

Really great that big joints such as Sega put their trust in Steam all the more. Valve stands with Linux gaming and Valve gets more pennies right.

Say, the neighborhoods emulation bully Nintendo (who loves to pick on especially the little harmless projects) would apparently never do Steam

I already left a report on Sonic x Shadow on ProtonDB. Only issue I've run into with the game is that it crashes every time I select 'Options' from the menu in Shadow Generations. I believe this is an issue specifically with my Intel Arc A770, as I do not have the same problem on my Steam Deck.
Huge Sonic fan here. Since I already own the original Sonic Generations (it works really well on Linux but getting the modloader to work was trial and error), I'm not getting this at launch. Also, Sega's past track record for remasters has been pretty dire: I felt that Origins was a disappointing cashgrab and the less that's said about Colours Ultimate the better. I assumed Shadow Generations was going to be the same deal but with Edgy the Edgelord stapled on to capitalise on the new movie, so I decided that I wouldn't be getting it.
...then it came out and was one of the most critically acclaimed Sonic releases in recent memory. And all the other Sonic fans seem to be enjoying it. Still have no intention of buying it at launch, but I'll definitely look into it if it goes on sale.

Also, there is a new Ys game coming out today and I liked the look of it more. Sorry Sonic, but I have my priorities.

Much too expensive with the included punish the buyer technology. With Denuvo the price should be a lot less than 1 €.
