Following on from the huge SteamOS 3.6 update for Steam Deck, Valve has put up SteamOS 3.6.20 Beta with a few more improvements.

Here's what's changed:

  • Fixed an issue where the updater could repeatedly revert you to the previous OS version if certain configuration files were user-modified.
  • Fixed an issue with taking multiple screenshots if Game Recording is on.
  • Improved performance in Metaphor: ReFantazio by up to 20%.

Available in the Preview and Beta channels via Settings > System > System Update Channel.

Now SteamOS 3.6 has been out for a week, how have you been getting on with it? Are there any major problems you've had? Let me know in the comments.

On the topic of game recording: i still did not find a way to record game-only audio. I can choose to include my microphone, but the voicechat (mumble) in the background get recorded, too. Currently i am running Linux Mint on Pipewire, but i cannot seem to find a way to isolate the different sources. Other than that, i really love this feature.
