Unknown Worlds and KRAFTON, Inc. have officially revealed Subnautica 2, the full sequel to the incredibly popular open-world ocean survival game. Their plan is to launch it in Early Access sometime in 2025 and it's confirmed for Steam.

An exciting addition for this one will be the four player co-op so you can explore and build a base together! Unlike Subnautica: Below Zero, Subnautica 2 is set on a whole new world as it's an all-new adventure. What to expect from it? All new biomes, new creatures, new everything and lots more of it:

Expanding on what fans loved about the previous games in the series, Subnautica 2 will deepen the experience with new biomes, from towering underwater cliffs to lush coral fields, each filled with unique creatures and hidden mysteries. As players dive deeper, they will uncover the secrets at the heart of planet.

Of course no word yet on how it will run with Proton on Steam Deck and Desktop Linux, hopefully there won't be too many issues.

You can now follow it on Steam.

Wow, this is great. I really loved the original Subnautica. The first night underwater, the things glowing in the reefs, and the soundtrack of Simon Chylinski kicked in... that was awesome.
Basebuilding with friends? Hell yeah.
