Recently we had Devolver Digital announce Big Fan Games to get more games made from major licenses (tv, movies, comics etc) and the first is TRON: Catalyst.

This debut project from Big Fan Games brings in Bithell Games to make it who also worked on Thomas Was Alone, John Wick Hex, Tron: Identity and others. Set in the same world that Bithell Games created for Tron: Identity, it's a standalone game though that you can enjoy without playing Identity.

More about it: "In Disney TRON: Catalyst, players are introduced to Exo, a highly resilient and resourceful program with an incredible ability to initiate time loops. With this newfound power, Exo takes on the overlords of a crumbling Grid all while evading Conn, a malevolent agent of CORE. Exo must gain control over her mysterious abilities and uncover the unexplained ‘Glitch’ that threatens the Grid.

As Exo, players will battle on-foot and on Light Cycle to complete missions and gain crucial insights that will help them on their quest. While learning from her mistakes, Exo will also need to navigate warring factions to unlock new paths and uncover the secrets of the Arq Grid."

I am a MASSIVE tron fan, basically in all things. I love the universe they created, the stories and concepts, the 80's movie, various games, and I absolutely ADORE the 2010 tron legacy movie. It's probably in my top 5 of all time since it's not even really a movie it's just one of the best musicals ever made.

All that said, and I'll probably just pass on this. Top down beat-em-ups ....... I really wish I could get interested but I don't know why they picked this genre. Do these games sell really well? Their last one was a visual novel?

The best TRON game intro was on TRON: Solar Sailor on the Intellivision from 1982. It used the voice module. While the best TRON game to me is TRON 2.0. Which is available on Steam and GOG.
