To help you decide on what to pick up, I've gone through the Steam Autumn Sale and picked out a whole bunch that will work great across both Steam Deck and Desktop Linux. These are my cheap-picks, to help those of you on a bit of a budget right now.

As always, these lists are a little biased to what I think look good, but obviously my tastes are the best and you should buy all of them and if you don't agree you're clearly wrong.

Jokes aside, I've split the list between two categories for you, each filled with an assortment of games. All the games are also steam deck verified Steam Deck Verified, so no hunting for compatibility needed. Every single one in the list is also at a minimum rated Very Positive by users on Steam too.

Best under £5

Mass Effect Legendary Edition - 92% off
An absolute steal with that discount. I completely it on Steam Deck (not my first time…) and loved it.

Mad Max - 90% off

Prey - 90% off

HITMAN World of Assassination Part One - 90% off

Half-Life and Half-Life 2 - 80% off
Awesome with the recent Half-Life 2 massive update.

Dying Light - 80% off

Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition - 75% off

Terraria - 50% off

Brotato - 40% off
Although it's also free on Epic Games till December 5.

Vampire Survivors - 25% off

Halls of Torment - 25% off

Best under £10

Subnautica - 67% off

Slay the Spire - 66% off

Fallout 4 - 60% off

Dead by Daylight - 60% off

Pentiment - 50% off

Paint the Town Red - 50% off

Cult of the Lamb - 50% off

The Long Dark - 40% off

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth - 34% off

Stardew Valley - 30% off

Have you picked up anything good? I got suckered and picked up Diablo IV. Even though I have it on Battlenet, the Steam convenience is unmatched. And honestly, I forget to ever actually look at Battlenet - woops.

See all in the Steam sale.

I'll also recommend again the The Raw Fury Humble Bundle because it really is a good deal.

And, if you missed it, the next Proton update is in testing and coming soon. It's going to be a big one with plenty of game compatibility improvements.

Just got Lego Pirates of the Caribbean, Orcs must Die 3 and Wolfenstein Youngblood. All of them under 10$. In fact, 2 of them under 5$. Pure nostalgia or to complete my collections.

Sucks. I'm broke going into all these sales and black Friday because it's been a really terrible year for me, so I'm going to miss all the sales.

I found this survival game called Nuclear Nightmare that just launched before Halloween that is currently 80% off at $1.39 on steam. It had 3,700 players online within the last day. Excellent deal and MUST BUY if a fan of genre.

I would also recommend to anyone who enjoys FPS games, if you don't own F.E.A.R, now is the time. Its only a buck on GOG or two bucks on steam. MUST BUY if a fan of genre.

On the brighter side, there'll be the Winter Sale soon after the Autumn Sale finishes, and the Spring Sale not that long after that.

Do these EA games (like Mass Effect) still work with the new EA launcher? most of my games going through the launch are borked.

There hasn't been anything that has tempted me into buying, but I'm still busy with Steamworld Quest which I bought on GOG a few weeks ago.

Do I need Brotato if I'm still not done with Vampire Survivors and Halls of Torment?

Quoting: MohandevirLego Pirates of the Caribbean
Nice game, but there are a few locations that are quite crashy. I've played it last year (?) for the first time.

Quoting: MohandevirWolfenstein Youngblood
I don't have that one, but it has quite a reputation for being very janky.

Youngblood was the cheapest of the lot... I guess I don't have much to loose.
