Is this Palworld all over again? The copying here is pretty blatant. Tencent Games owned developer Polaris Quest revealed LIGHT OF MOTIRAM and it seems very familiar.

Picture this: you run around with a bow and arrow, or a spear, and come across various mechanical beasts that freely roam the world. You've heard that before right? Because that's Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West. But actually, it's not, it's LIGHT OF MOTIRAM.

Much like Palworld though, this adds quite a lot to the basic idea. There's online co-op for up to 10 people, 100 different Mechanimals to tame, ride, customize and take into combat with you. A full building system that has "realistic physics" with crafting, making it more of a traditional open-world survival game. Even so, their inspiration is truly obvious. The combat looks a fair bit more like Monster Hunter though, which is interesting. It's just the overall design work is very Horizon looking.

I must admit, I do love the look and sound of this one.

Taking existing games and mixing them up with other mechanics has been a tried-and-true method of game development since the beginning of game development.

But are we sure this doesn't violate 30 patents owned by the publisher of Horizon Zero Dawn?

This is true but people don't just create carbon copies like this one.

Now Nintendo should sponsor this game to hit back at Sony for helping Palworld. Perfect for Switch 2. lol

This game looks like a bunch of assets and mechanics ripped from Horizon and if that's the case, then this game might not be there for long if and when Sony sue them for it.

Can’t say I mind them using the same premise, but the machine designs do look stunningly close to those in Horizon, down to the component shapes and color schemes. It wouldn’t hurt to make them look a little more distinct.

Probably not... more likely 30 patents owned by Nintendo somehow ;)

it sounds like an Ark x Zero Dawn Crossover with the best of both and it seems you can ride way more machines than in Zero Dawn. I'm excited! I love both games

They don't even TRY to hide the blatant rip off visual designs, man, that takes some guts.

So it's ARK with an Horizon skin... I guess the only good thing about it will be the latter.

Even if the crafting survivor wrapped in Horizon premise attracts me a lot, it's a F2P, I bet it follows the too much grindy formula of Once Human, or similar. My interest in it just died.

So far this is only a few images and a video. This stuff is easy to make these days. Making a functional and fun game is not easy. This may have tencent backing, but it's still a first product of a new studio. Jumping into something this complex out of nothing is going to be extremely problematic. This has "The Day Before" vibes written all over it and I'd be surprised if it ever sees the light of day.

Sounds like the game itself could be fun.

But I can't help laughing at the comedy which is a Chinese owned company ripping off foreign products and then selling it to the same market.
