While the developers keep working away on multiplayer for Dome Keeper, you can now get back to filling your game up with mods as support has returned.

The game did have it before, but they did a major upgrade of the Godot Engine version used with a previous update, which messed with mod support. Now though, it's back and better than ever with numerous mods upgraded for it.

As they explained in the announcement

This year we ported Dome Keeper from Godot 3 to Godot 4. Godot is the engine we use. This was a big undertaking done for three reasons, being multiplayer, console ports and future proofing the project. With that switch, the way the game can be modded did change too, and thus most mods broke.
We hired Ste from our community to lead the effort of making modding work for Godot 4 for Dome keeper. He is a cornerstone of our community and a key person in the Godot modloader project (shoutout to Kana too <3), so in short the perfect fit to champion modding.

The result: modding is back, yay!

To celebrate, a Dome Keeper modding jam is coming in January and they will be giving out some awards for it.

I recently got quite hooked on Dome Keeper. It's a great game and in the blink of an eye quite a few hours vanished from me. Woops.

Also a great time to mention you can get Dome Keeper and more games in the latest Humble Bundle!

Still one of the best games of all times imho. Really looking forward to multiplayer ^^
For mods, i must admit that i'm yet to find any really groundbreaking ones. But maybe now's the time to give them another look ^^
