Project Zomboid, the highly rated and popular zombie survival game from The Indie Stone, is set to get another truly massive update.
The developers announced an unstable Build 42 is planned to arrive before Christmas time, but they will delay it if they need to. However they said "the enjoyment we’re seeing from our testers certainly would seem to suggest that the build will be in a good enough state for wider consumption".
Build 42 Unstable is planned to add some great features like:
- An expanded map.
- Underground areas.
- A new lighting system.
- Animal husbandry.
- Wild animals.
- Expanded lore.
- Dynamic music.
- Player vocals.
- Better UI scaling.
- + much more shown in the image they shared below.
Project Zomboid has now been in Early Access for over 11 years! The Indie Stone have been through some tough times, like a break-in back in 2011 that resulted in a lot of lost work. Thankfully, the game lived on and became something much-loved by players.
It has Native Linux support and Valve rated it Steam Deck Verified.
Quoting: tastyjerkWhat does "Multiplayer Reintroduced" mean under the "Later" section of the graphic? Multiplayer is in the game right now, so are they removing it with Unstable? Or is there some sort of a multiplayer revamp on the way?Basically yeah. Since parts of the multiplayer are being rewritten to accomodate more optimization needed for the new features and protections, it will be unavailable in the first unstable versions, so servers will have to stick to the stable for 41.78.16 for a while.
