Valve have updated Proton Experimental, the testing-ground for new features and fixes for their Windows compatibility layer for Steam Deck and Desktop Linux. Here's what's new for November 25th.

Other bug fixes:
- Fixed Shadow Warrior crashing with AMD GPUs.
- Fixed various crashes affecting Final Fantasy XIV launcher.
- Fixed broken account creation in Final Fantasy XIV.
- Fixed Chromacell not being playable on AMD GPUs.

If you already have Proton Experimental downloaded, it will show up in your Steam Downloads as needing an update. Otherwise, you can just search for it in your Steam Library to install it. Learn more in my Proton beginner's guide.
A quick note as well: recently I noticed various other news websites suddenly covering the NVIDIA DLSS 3 update in Proton Experimental that I covered nearly two weeks ago. One generic PC site covered it, then another and then another…and so on, sourcing each other. Many making claims of a Steam Deck 2 in some form.
Some writers seem to be mixing up (either for clickbait or they're just confused), that Proton is somehow tied to SteamOS or the Steam Deck, but remember - we all use it on Desktop Linux too. Not everything is directly Steam Deck related at all. Plus, you can bet the Steam Deck 2 if it ever releases will continue to be using an AMD APU. I'll eat my current Steam Deck if Valve went with Intel or NVIDIA. Don't hold me to that.
