DXVK-Sarek for old GPUs v1.10.4 released

By -

With integration coming in a future release of Proton-Sarek, designed for gamers that have older GPUs, the first release of DXVK-Sarek is out now.

As a brief reminder: Proton-Sarek is a custom build of Proton with an older DXVK for users with GPUs that support Vulkan 1.1+ but not Vulkan 1.3, or for those with no Vulkan support. Created to enable you to still play plenty of games with older GPUs on Linux.

As mentioned previously, the developer has now also forked the DXVK project directly into DXVK-Sarek to bring over plenty of enhancements and a first release is out with DXVK-Sarek v1.10.4.

This release has a mixture of changes to various game configurations including:

  • Backport: Adapted from a modern build and integrated into the 1.10.x branch.
  • Update: Enhanced an existing configuration to match the latest build settings.

  • I also created an Async Patched Build for those who prefer using the Async version over the original.
  • Updated the Logger string in dxvk/src/dxvk/dxvk_instance.cpp and the renderer.drawText string in dxvk/src/dxvk/hud/dxvk_hud_item.cpp to display "DXVK-Sarek" instead of "DXVK". This ensures clarity that the build is a custom version and not from the original DXVK repository.
    • Note: The engine name remains unchanged to preserve compatibility with tools like MangoHUD, which rely on the original DXVK identifier.
