Hello there! It's coming up on Christmas now, and so GamingOnLinux will be starting to go into it's usual mostly hibernating state to take a little break.

As per usual I'll be taking some holiday time and slightly longer than usual over the next 2 weeks. So unless there's some sudden big stories that appear, or just plain boredom from me (sometimes I really just can't help myself) or from guest contributions, you can expect news to be rather quiet over the 2 weeks. A time to recharge, see family and play some video games on Linux (you should see my backlog…).

I'll take this moment to thank all readers and supporters for another incredible year. We've been through some really interesting news through 2024, and it really does look like 2025 is going to be even bigger.

Just a reminder that if you wish to support me and GamingOnLinux the links are available here any time which includes the affiliate store links to buy games while also supporting GamingOnLinux.

And as another reminder you can follow along on Mastodon, Bluesky, Telegram, WhatsApp and the customizable RSS feed. If you wish to connect up with other readers you can also join the Discord and Reddit to chat and share.

Remember that on top of news articles there's also the anti-cheat page, our user statistics page and our steam tracker. With more sections planned to launch in 2025 as well including a dedicated guides page for things that don't fit into a front-page news article.

GamingOnLinux will return to properly normal operations around January 6th, 2025.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and have a wonderful and safe New Year celebration!

Happy new years don't exist anymore, IMO. Nothing good to look forward to in the next year, at least where I live in the US. Just another new level of utter hellscape starting next month. It's going to be awful.

The holidays are extremely stressful to me. Probably the only good thing about January is that they will be over.
