Motorsport Games announced at the end of November, that all NASCAR games will be delisted from stores on December 31st.

In a statement posted on X / Twitter the official Motorsport Games account said:

To the NASCAR game community!

From December 31, 2024, all NASCAR game titles and their DLC content will no longer be available for purchase on all digital storefronts but will remain available to play after this time. This includes the
@NASCARHeat, @NASCARRivals, and @NASCARignition franchises.

Please lookout for various platform promotions this December to complete your NASCAR console game collection while you can!

We sincerely thank our community for the enthusiasm and support you’ve shown for these games over the years and hope you have enjoyed racing with us.

Why? Back in October 2023, Motorsport Games sold off the NASCAR Team Properties' (NTP) exclusive license to iRacing. So this is just them cleaning up shop.

Looking on stores Fanatical and Steam various games do have a big discount on them. So if you did want to pick some up, now is the time. As usual for delistings, you'll keep your copy for download but no one else will be able to buy them after December 31st, 2024.

Well, at least they have a decent enough period of advanced notice.

I'm not a fan of those limited time deals. For example, Sega lost the Ferrari license they had and you cannot get Outrun 2006 anymore, the pinnacle of Sega's arcade racing games.

Another one is Capcom's license for Cadillac & Dinosaurs, their very best beat'em up game. It is forever stuck in the arcades, and only possible to legally get if you lost a arm and a leg for a original arcade machine. Never got a console port, nor is available on their arcade collection on Steam.

IF anyone is looking to pick up a NASCAR game on Steam....... Then really the only option right now is NASCAR Heat 5.......

NASCAR Heat 1 ,2 and 3 are rather shite....... 2 and 3 are better than 1...... But so is stubbing your pinky toe on the corner of the bed every night for a week.......

NASCAR Heat 4 is good..... And NASCAR Heat 5 is basically a carbon copy of Heat 4 with an updated roster and a few bug fixes....... Which is what makes it the better choice for NASCAR games on steam.....

NASCAR 21: Ignition is complete garbage........ It should have been one of the most easy slam dunk projects ever and somehow Motorsport Games screw it all up...... Take the rFactor 2 engine which they owned and add NASCAR to it...... Studio 397 (The guys who made rFactor 2) had already released an unofficial 2018 NASCAR vehicle on the Steam Workshop for free......

What we ended up getting was a completely whacked out buggy mess thats not even worth it for free...... And the game is still mostly broken with many bugs still not fixed......

To be 100% honest...... You are still way better off playing NASCAR Racing 2003 Season by Papyrus in WINE than buying any NASCAR game thats currently on steam...... There is still tons of support out there for it and a very active modding scene.....

You are also still better off playing NASCAR Dirt to Daytona on the Dolphin emulator with the retexture mod........

The biggest issue I have with iRacing having the NASCAR licence is that there is a good chance that there wont be a real PC version of the game as seen with the World of Outlaws games they currently produce...... As they want you to play with that content within iRacing on PC.......
