Slay the Spire 2 is coming to Early Access in 2025 and we have the first official trailer to get you ready for more deck-building. We don't know exactly when it will arrive but we do know it will have Native Linux support built with Godot.

From what they've shown the production value has gone up quite a bit since the first game, with some nice new character models and animations going on. Still very much Slay the Spire just looking a fair bit more impressive - and that's exactly what I want to see.

From the announcement:

It’s been 1000 years since the Spire last opened its doors… and since we first announced that Slay the Spire 2 was in development! At long last, the gameplay reveal for the sequel to the original, iconic roguelike deckbuilder is here, as revealed earlier today at The Game Awards.

Step into the newly evolved Spire, a twisted labyrinth teeming with strange and deadly foes. With a new and returning cast of characters, adapt to an arsenal of brand new cards, relics, and potions, each offering game-changing possibilities—or dangerous consequences.

What new strategies and challenges await…?

With tons of hours in the first game, I'm eagerly awaiting the sequel. Hopefully it will have full controller support so that we can play it wherever we like from Desktop to Steam Deck. Although, it's such a simple game in terms of controls it should work fine on Deck regardless.
