I quite enjoyed the first initial demo of Tempest Rising, a classic RTS like Westwood used to make (Red Alert, Command & Conquer) only a lot shinier and now it has a release date along with a new trailer. You'll need Proton to play this on Linux when it launches on April 24th, 2025.
Tempest Rising transports you to a battle-scarred 1997 in an alternate timeline where the Cuban Missile Crisis went nuclear. In the fallout from the war, a strange, red, electrical vine known as Tempest spread across the planet and changed the course of history, awakening an ancient race lying dormant known as the Veti, as teased in today’s new trailer.

Looks a little like classic Command'N'Conquer but with a lot more CGI?

I quite liked the demo, it hit all my C&C cravings. It feels like a blend of Red Alert and Tiberian Sun.
I wonder if another dev might decide to make a StarCraft knock off next, I'd be down for that as well.

We are in the age of purchasing well after release.
That being said, I will be watching with interest with how it turns out, especially now that embracer is no longer involved in its publication.

It looks very nice and flashy. But the only multiplayer is PvP? Aww.
