id Software and Bethesda Softworks have revealed more gameplay for DOOM: The Dark Ages, plus it's now set for release on May 15th. Although, like many bigger developers, you can get it a few days early if you buy the more expensive edition of the game for Advanced Access on May 13th.

Something to note, is that the game requires a GPU with Ray Tracing capabilities, even on their minimum settings. As they announced in a news post they said: "Note: DOOM: The Dark Ages requires a hardware ray tracing-compatible GPU to play on PC, including Minimum Specifications. Details on Path Tracing specifications will be revealed at a later date."
They say it's using a new generation of their idTech game engine, idTech8, which takes "full advantage of modern hardware on all platforms, idTech8 ushers in a new era of gameplay performance and visual fidelity featuring all-new dynamic interactive ray-traced lighting and shadows, higher-fidelity image quality, increased gore and destruction and so much more".
Sounds quite exciting, if your PC will run it, as it has the "largest environments ever in a DOOM game" to date with dragons and great big mechs. This might be a bridge too far for the Steam Deck though. Hopefully there won't be any issues with normal Desktop Linux via Proton.

Luckily there are alternative sites that offer cheaper key's or you can wait for this or next years winter sale on Steam and get it at a more reasonable price.
The game does look amazing though, I'll give them that, but the price is too much for a pure single player experience.

Also I think they are exagerating about the requeriments. It will run with less.
What about the other rumors of it having Denuvo at launch?
Dont forget the season pass and DLC garbage that comes with the live service nonsense.
This isnt DOOM. If you want a good doom experience, install old school DOOM, load up brutal DOOM -- and enjoy the seemingly endless quality maps and mods out there. Just because they label it DOOM doesnt mean it is DOOM.
80 Dollars for this? If people really enjoy this type of content for that kind of money, more power to them. But wow, talk about lining up to be ripped off over and over.

It seems that ray-tracing will be a requirement, so be prepared for a "non compatible with Steam Deck".
Indiana Jones requires ray-tracing and runs on the SD just fine.
