FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH gets Steam Deck Verified ahead of release

FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH from Square Enix arrives on January 23rd, and thankfully the developers have already managed to get it steam deck verified Steam Deck Verified ahead of the release.

I was hoping this would be the case, since the developer did previously confirm they were working on Steam Deck optimisations. Today the verification went public as shown on SteamDB (and now on the Steam page) as Verified using Proton 9.0-4, the latest stable release of Valve's compatibility layer for running Windows games on Linux systems.

Really great to see!

Oh man. Playing ff7 on the couch seems pretty amazing. If the performance holds up, I will for sure.

FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE Project Trilogy Part 2

Why does it called "Trilogy" but "Part 2"? From what I know, plot-wise, FF VII: Rebirth is a continuation of FF VII: Remake Intergrade, and should be played after it. But is Rebirth still not a complete story and some kind "Trilogy Part 3" game is planed? FF VII: Final Chapters or something?

It's part 2, of what will be a trilogy.

GreenManGaming has keys at 43% off, better than the 30% discount on Steam. I'm excited for playing on my Deck, and for streaming from my PC.
This may be my sole game purchase in 2025, barring GTA VI releasing this year (it'll be delayed).

@chickenb00 where do you see the 43% ...? I only see 30, same as steam.
