It's short, it's cute, it's free with Linux support and it's out now on Steam. Batography is a photography platformer where you play as a curious bat on their mission to take a full-fledged photo of the moon. Here you will run, climb, glide and snap your way through an array of obstacles while interacting with the cheeky characters in the neighbourhood.

Created by SporkTank, that's mostly just solo developer Martin Stradling, it was previously released on itch.io and they also made the puzzle game A Symmetric Escape. Batography was developed as a way to get his younger cousins involved in game development. The game was developed as a small side project whilst working on the upcoming Rita, which was chosen for the PAX Aus Indie Showcase.

"While working on Rita (a game heavily inspired by family), I thought it would be nice to get a project that was actually created with family on to Steam!" Martin shared, "So here it is, a beautiful little side-scroller with sassy characters and some hidden extras. I hope you enjoy!"

I love freebies like this. Just something some people made cause they wanted to.
I know that sites like itch are full of that stuff, but often on Steam in particular stuff gets put up for commerce, which would be fair enough to ask money for your efforts. So it's nice to see projects like this to just take a look at. - And so I will check it out.
