KillPixel Games, one of the dev teams responsible for WRATH: Aeon of Ruin, have announced their next game with THREAT VECTOR. Seems it will have Linux support like WRATH too.

About the game: "In 2197, an interplanetary mankind encounters a rogue planet passing through the solar system. Beneath its frozen surface lurks a discovery that threatens all of humanity. As the human race is brought to the edge of extinction, a failing AI locates a remaining hypersleep pod within lunar orbital Theia's crisis unit chamber. Once awakened, the last surviving soldier must journey across the solar system to secure the THREAT VECTOR."

They've so far only released a short teaser video on the game, which doesn't give away much and doesn't really show any gameplay but even so, it has me rather excited because it seems like it's going to be incredibly creepy. Story from their Steam page noted above sounds interesting too.

Check out the first teaser below:

This retro FPS scene really needs a swift kick in the butt. They all look the same.

I'm certainly getting Quake 2 vibes from the screenshots. But it's not due out until 2027, so plenty of time for things to change...

Interesting, though probably not for me since honestly I get nervous playing FPS games in the first place, much less ones that are actually horror themed. As for the retro FPS scene needing some more variety, eh, I could go either way on that. Stuff from New Blood is pretty varied, and Selaco is a visual feast. That being said, I do get where you're coming from, it does feel like you either get scifi corridors and modern weapons, or dark, spooky, rural/past times areas and more conventional weapons.
