KONAMI announced that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is going to be launching on August 28th, with pre-orders now live. Another that was announced during the PlayStation State of Play recently and the mini-game from the original is returning too.

With pre-orders live it's another that's doing Advanced Access for the more expensive edition of the game. This allows you to play 48 hours earlier than the standard edition.

・Uniform: Naked Woodland
・Uniform: Naked Ammunition Belt
・Uniform: Gold
・Face: Glasses
・Face: Sunglasses
・Equipment: Kerotan Mask
・Equipment: GA-KO Mask

Bonus Content
・Uniform: White Tuxedo
*This content is also obtainable through in-game progress.

For the Steam release they also confirmed the Snake vs. Monkey minigame from the original is back, where you have to capture a group of mischievous monkeys.

In the PlayStation blog post they also confirmed the game will feature both a "New Style" third-person view, and a "Legacy Style" top-down view "to recreate the look and feel of the original game".

This is another that I expect may be a bit too much for the Steam Deck, with it powered by Unreal Engine 5. Hopefully overall though at least on Desktop Linux it should be okay with Valve's Proton. I'm thoroughly looking forward to it, actually skipping over it from the Master Collection Version to wait for this.

It's a series of games I never got into, sadly. They have such a loyal fanbase, must be doing something right. I think it was MGS5 that I tried to play, but spent like 40 minutes watching cutscenes in a plane on the way to the first mission. I just remember thinking that I'd have been better off watching a movie instead.

Yeah, me too. Unskippable cutscenes are not for me. Although I have more patience now for slow pacing games, I still don't think I will take this one.

with it powered by Unreal Engine 5.

Really? I watched the trailer and it looked like a PS4 game.

I can't tell whether they got the original voice cast back, or they're just re-using all the voice recordings from the original game.

I like that Snake vs Monkey is back. I don't like that this uses Unreal Engine.

There is not a single cutscene on a plane on the first mission (nor the second, nor on any mission). MGS4 on the other hand is basically a movie with some gameplay intercut (if you have played the entire series before though MGS4 is extremely enjoyable), sadly only exists for the PS3.
