Probably one of the most exciting upcoming point and click adventures is Kathy Rain 2: Soothsayer, and now you can get any early look thanks to a demo release for Steam Next Fest. This isn't the first time it's had a demo but the developers said it's gone through some updates, so it may be worth checking out again.

They've said the game will actually begin with a recap of the first game, and they've also put up a new Bridging the Gap video to give you a brief rundown of the eventsI mean, the first game isn't super long (which is generally true for point & clicks), isn't especially expensive, and is really good, so I'd say just play that while you're waiting for the sequel.
