That's another game with the green tick that you might want to pick up. BallisticNG is a Wipeout, Rollcage and Jet Moto inspired racer that's genuinely good. With the still in-development updates, it's now Steam Deck Verified. It also has Native Linux support.

For the best experience on Steam Deck though you do need to opt-in to the "development" Beta on Steam. This does highlight a bit of a flaw in Valve's Deck Verified rating system, as it already shows as Deck Verified on the Steam page despite needing the Beta.

As the developer announced on Steam "1.4 Dev 6" brings quite a lot of work. There's a lot of UI updates that went into this, with developer Neognosis noting how they've been "addressing feedback from both the community and Valve through the Steam Deck verification process". There's new standardized input prompt positions, campaign info pages are now tabs making understanding it easier, there's a controller events system, fixes to controller assignment, larger text sizing in some places and more.

Their most recent proper trailer is below:

Nice to see so many developers making their games better on Steam Deck, with a lot of the benefits just making the games better overall.

Man, this game is so good! I started playing last year. Was aware of it long before, but always a bit unsure about the graphics... turned out they bothered me for exactly 2 seconds xD I´ve thrown some prodigy and old wipeout tracks in the games music folder and been racing like its 2097 ever since. Pure bliss.

Been playing on my Steam Deck and didn´t even notice it wasn´t verified. Guess they made some menu-stuff smoother now or something.

Edit: If someone´s interested, you can get the deluxe edition right now as part of Fanatical´s "Build your own Pedal to the Metal Bundle" (not sure if I´m allowed to post the link?). Lowest tier would be three games for 6€. Even if you dont like any of the other games, thats a great price just to get this one. Runs for another 7 days.

I don't play racers, but the trailer sure looks like it has that sort of "Chaotic but hypnotic" thing down pat.
