From developer 8BitSkull (BORE BLASTERS, Void Scrappers) their next game is Skull Horde, an auto-battling dungeon crawler where you raise up an undead army while floating around. It's going to release this year with Linux and Steam Deck support.

I really liked both BORE BLASTERS and Void Scrappers, so I'm keen to see more from 8BitSkull. Hard to really get a good idea from the trailer though but looks quite chaotic during all the battles.

More about it:

Betrayed by his own flesh and blood, buried, and forced to spend an eternity underground, our necromancer protagonist has a literal bone to pick, and goes on a revenge mission against the rest of his body. Call upon your fellow living-challenged and watch your minions do your bidding independently, in real-time auto-battles.

Skull Horde’s procedurally generated dungeons are populated with unique enemy types, each with their own strategies to send you back from whence you came. Each run provides new ways to take down fleshfolk as you collect loot and boons from chests and shrines, upgrade and merge units, and unlock powerful perks that combine with each playable character’s strengths.

Features:

  • No Body? No Problem!: Stunt on the haters (your own body) as one of multiple playable characters with unique special abilities, including the option of being a floating skull.
  • Super Soldier Squad: Turn your army into the finest assortment of expendable minions that money can buy, combining loot found in the dungeons to gain great advantages, and merging multiple units to make them stronger.
  • Procedurally Generated Dungeons: No two dungeons are alike and each level features a variety of enemy types, ensuring that builds must be tinkered and tweaked to overcome their attacks. Unique challenges that reward new unlocks and content will also keep you on your skele-toes.
