We know Neverwinter Nights 2 Enhanced Edition is probably coming, thanks to the previous leak, but it still hasn't actually been announced yet. However, it's clearly getting closer.
Going by SteamDB, it appears that Valve were able to get pre-release testing on this one done, and they've given it a Steam Deck Playable rating. While it has a green check for most things, Valve noted the game does not exit cleanly and "may require you to manually quit via the Steam overlay". If that's the only issue Valve have noted as per the listing, seems it might be another great classic to play on Steam Deck.
While SteamDB is a community website, it's generally a great source for early info like this.
From what we do know it seems Aspyr Media are involved with it, thanks to their name clearly stated in the EULA notice. And we also know that Beamdog are not involved with this one even though they did a bunch of previous Enhanced Editions for the original and other RPGs.
Hopefully we'll get some real details on it soon. Will keep an eye out.
I hope performance will get a fix and it will scale properly on different hardware.
I... probably wouldn't be launching the remaster on vintage hardware if I were you? Although I kinda want to build an XP rig now and try.
I hear that Mask of the Betrayer is supposed to be pretty good.
MotB has pretty decent writing and an interesting storyline. Way better than Hordes of the Underdark IMHO, I'd even consider it better than Throne of Bhaal (I'm singling out those two because epic level adventures are fairly rare).
