2D BOY / Tomorrow Corporation have announced that following it being an exclusive to the Epic Games Store and their own store on PC, that World of Goo 2 is coming to Steam.

Nice to see it getting an expanded release. Especially nice for Linux / Steam Deck fans, as it makes it much easier to just click and play. No release date has been given yet but their email did say it would be "very soon". They also said the Steam release will "include fabulous new achievements, as well as some other updates we can share soon - stay tuned".

I do have some very fond memories of the first game. I completely forgot it existed. EGS really does have that effect... Glad it's being, well, actually released, and hopefully it'll sell.

Since they have changed their FAQ, let us not forget them going Ooblets on us during the exclusivity period:

But I want to play it on my heavy computer that's strapped to my face and sprays pixels into my eyeballs.

Don't see your favorite platform listed? Don't worry. Throw your other platforms in the trash, and get it from one of the above!

When it originally came out, I just bought it directly from the developer DRM free 🤷‍♂️

Since they have changed their FAQ, let us not forget them going Ooblets on us during the exclusivity period:

Their only fault was in not realising that too many gamers nowadays suffer from a distinct lack of a sense of humour and/or take themselves far too seriously. Not to mention an empathy deficit for the insane piracy numbers of their first title.

Personally, I am pleasantly surprised it didn't turn them into cynical bastards who decided to punish all of us (since paying fans of the original are a tiny minority) and still offer a drm-free version.

I got the native Linux version from their website already. Hmm... wouldn't be the first game that I buy again, just to have the convenience of the Steam ecosystem
