Developer .Gravity announced recently that Little Sim World will be entering Early Access on May 1st, and it appears it will also get Linux / Steam Deck support. The Steam page has updated system requirements to note Linux support, and their official FAQ states it too. Although it's not entirely clear if that support will be ready in time for Early Access.
More about it: "Little Sim World is a 2D life sim made with love by an indie team who’ve always dreamed of building a cosy little world you could truly call your own. We surveyed over 10,000 hardcore sim fans to find out what they wanted in a life simulation game, and we've packed Little Sim World with all the must-have features! Explore the streets of Little London, decorate your dream home, meet lovely (and sometimes odd) locals, and live your life however you choose!"

The developer noted how this game is "focused on the RPG aspects and customizing a singular character". You can have multiple characters but each will have their own world. Each character is highly customizable from personality traits to your face and hairstyle too. As for how it differs from other similar games like The Sims the developer noted a couple differences:
- No loading screens when moving around the world.
- The player isn’t bound to their house.
- Furniture and the character can be edited substantially more e.g. through custom colours.
- Almost all objects in the world are interactable in a meaningful way.
Additionally, there is a main story to follow along too and online multiplayer support for up to five players.
The game has been supported via their Patreon for quite a while, which seems to be doing well with 1,724 members.
