There's a whole lot of space dwarf action going on lately. Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor now has a release date for the 1.0 release and we have new footage on the upcoming Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core too.

Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, the bullet heaven survivor-like thingy spin-off, will be releasing the 1.0 update on September 17th, 2025. It will come with a new major feature teased with "Gear", although they're not giving much info just yet they said it's "not just a minor tweak" but a " brand-new system that will shake up the meta layer" and teased more to come.

Additionally, we also have new footage for the upcoming rogue-lite action spin-off of Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core. This takes the basics of the original Deep Rock Galactic that you know and love, but mixes it up into a 1-4 player co-op experience that's different each time and build up a new character as you go through each play-through.

They're going to start closed alpha testing for this one sometime soon.

I'm thoroughly excited for Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core. This is going to be a good one.

I have enjoyed playing Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor on my SteamDeck. The gameplay mechanics don't involve using to controller for dashing or skill utilization, which makes the game doable for a "keep it simple for the uncoordinated" gamer like myself. The character classes, voice overs and biomes are well done. My only complaint is the high battery consumption on my SteamDeck LCD.

I have played Deep Rock Galactic also, but not on the SteamDeck. I did not find gameplay as intriguing as Survivors. Perhaps the addition of multiplayer might entice me back into playing again.
