Out now with Native Linux support and it's Steam Deck Verified, Fortune Street is the latest game from Binogure Studio (City Game Studio, Sneak In) that puts a fresh, fast and chaotic spin on the classic Monopoly. Note: key provided by the developer.
In the game you take turns to move across a board filled with surprises and opportunities. Each player participates in random game-changing events (there's over 30 of them) that can really mess with everyone. The added randomness really makes it feel different to classic Monopoly, like Jail being replaced with an ice floe that could transform into a luxury cruise and Free Parking instead being an airport that allows strategic movement across the board.

You can play it offline against AI bots and other people and you can also play online too. You can even play the game as a team if you fancy a bit of co-op against others.
The developer mentioned the Early Access period will last for probably around 2 years, so they can really polish it up and add in new features, although it's already a complete experience to play through. In their current roadmap they plan to add in custom game modes, a board editor, more customization, Steam Workshop support and much more.
Features:
- Dynamic Board Elements: From melting ice floes to bustling airports, every corner of the board holds a surprise.
- Strategic Rule Voting: Every 12 dice rolls, players vote on new rules that can drastically alter the game's dynamics.
- Speed Up Mechanism: A helicopter targets the poorest players, ensuring a fast-paced game that minimizes frustration.
- Elimination Bonus: Gain a $100K bonus for each player you eliminate, adding a competitive edge.
- Anti-Cheat Measures: With physics-based dice and wheel of fortune, plus advanced obfuscation and VAC, the integrity of the game is maintained.
- Rich Multiplayer Experience: Peer-to-peer connectivity with a robust recovery mechanism ensures seamless gameplay.
- Diverse Game Pieces and Boards: Choose from 12 unique pieces and explore 4 different themed boards.
More of a love letter to that, considering the name, I think.
Also, Fortune Street is probably my all-time favorite Wii game and if anyone reading this hasn't given it a shot yet, I highly recommend doing so. It's an amazing combination of Mario and Dragon Quest characters, in... A monopoly-like game that features stocks and minigames.
About @dibz comment, I'm sorry to say that's the title is the only thing that Fortune Avenue shares with Fortune Street. Fact is, I've never heard about Fortune Street before making Fortune Avenue... so you're going to get disappointed if you expect Fortune Avenue to be alike Fortune Street !
Sooo, Fortune Avenue is chaotic, and the patch I'm working on at the moment and going to get released in June will bring even more chaos to the game ! News rules to pimp the wheel of fortune, new cards that trigger votes... a lot of polish and improvements, the next update is going to be great, and the more I get feedback the better I understand what Fortune Avenue should be !
Let's be honest there, I made a game I like to play for real, but you folks have more ideas, to bring more chaos and more fun to it, so I take your feedbacks and put them into the game so it becomes a game that everyone wants to play !
Anyway thank you for the great article !
Cheers
